Mr. Nick Catania JP: Director
Nick
Catania has a Bachelor of Economics degree and has a breadth of
corporate finance experience through chairman-ships of a range of
organisations. Mr Catania has significant experience of the
workings of government, as a former State Government Minister and
of local government, as councillor and Mayor of the Town of
Vincent.
Career highlights include:
- Served the State of Western Australia as the Member for Balcatta in the WA Legislative Assembly from 1989 to 1997, when he held positions on a range of committees and in shadow portfolio areas including Finance, Trade and Development, Police, Small Business, Consumer Affairs and Multicultural and Ethic Affairs.
- Served as Chairman of the Western Australian Public Accounts Committee and Chairman of the Parliamentary Superannuation Fund.
- Appointed the inaugural Commissioner of Multicultural and Ethnic Affairs in 1986.
- Awarded the 1996 Police Union Outstanding Service Award, the 2002 Italian Australian Fellowship Award and the 2003 Centenary Medal.
Current roles include:
- Chairman, Western Australian Local Government Superannuation Plan.
- Mayor of Town of Vincent.
- Chairman Town of Vincent Audit Committee.
- Chairman North Perth Bendigo Bank.
- Vice Patron Active Foundation.
