Yilgarn Infrastructure Limited (Yilgarn) is
an unlisted Australian public company based in Perth, Western
Australia. The company was established in 2005. Its current
priority project is the development of the estimated $3 billion
Oakajee Port and associated rail infrastructure to support the
expansion of the Mid West region's iron ore industry.
An independent infrastructure provider with committed foundation mine customers, Yilgarn is well capitalised by a group of sophisticated Australian investors and is combining Western Australian engineering expertise and Australian equity financing with China's best infrastructure providers and strong financial support to develop the project.
Yilgarn's business is to build quality, independently owned and operated infrastructure to service all the Mid West region's mines on an open-access, open-book and common-user basis, enabling export of product at competitive prices for the Chinese and other international markets.
Yilgarn has an experienced Board of
Directors, a quality executive management team and world class
engineering and infrastructure partners. Yilgarn has a strong
customer service and public policy commitment reflecting the values
of its Chairman, Dr. John Saunders who was formerly a Special
Advisor to the State Energy Commission of Western Australia,
Director General of the NSW Department of State and Economic
Development, Cabinet appointed Co-ordinator General for NSW, and
Deputy Managing Director of AUSTRADE.
In addition to Dr Saunders, Yilgarn's experienced board members include Executive Director Derek Bone, former Western Australian Deputy Premier the Hon. Mal Bryce, Nick Catania, Guo-Ping Liu and Peter Gow.
